Badminton Horse Trials 2026

Every May, the Badminton Estate in Gloucestershire becomes the heartbeat of British equestrian life. The grass is immaculate and somewhere between the cross-country course and the trade stands, you’ll find exactly the kind of person Chatham was made for, someone who lives well outdoors, values quality above all, and never sacrifices style or practicality.

This year, Badminton delivered something truly unforgettable.

A Record Breaking Week on the Beaufort Estate

The Badminton Horse Trials have been running since 1949, founded by the 10th Duke of Beaufort on his magnificent South Gloucestershire estate. Over 77 years it has grown into one of only seven five-star eventing competitions in the world, a grueling four-day test of dressage, cross-country, and show jumping that attracts the finest horse and rider combinations.

Ros Canter and her extraordinary 14 year old gelding Lordships Graffalo, made eventing history by becoming the first combination ever to win Badminton three times. Their third victory, sealed with a composed clear round in the final show jumping phase, came just four months after Ros gave birth to her second daughter. She collected her £125,000 prize with Seneh in her arms. Tim Price jumped an immaculate clear to take second place, while Harry Meade and Annaghmore Valoner rounded out the podium in third.

More Than a Competition

For those who made the trip to Badminton this year, the sport was just one part of a much bigger occasion. Over 500 trade stands filled the shopping village across the five days, making it one of the finest retail experiences at any British outdoor event. The crowds, the atmosphere, the sense that everyone there shares a genuine love for the outdoors, it’s a world we feel very much at home in.

At Chatham, our roots are in the British countryside and coastline. Born out of a passion for the great outdoors, exploration, and adventure, we’ve spent over 25 years crafting footwear that keeps pace with the people who love that life, Badminton is full of those people, who love the country and thrive from the sense of community.

What you had on your feet

Whether you’re making your way around the cross-country course on Saturday morning or heading into the Members’ Enclosure for Sunday’s show jumping finale, comfort and quality matter. The ground at Badminton can be unpredictable, the days are long, and the terrain is varied, it’s exactly the conditions our G2 collection was designed for.

Here are a few of our favourites that would have been right at home on the Beaufort Estate this week:

For the Ladies

Olivia G2 —Chocolate

Olivia Chocolate has always been a fan favourite however this really stood out to a lot of people who visited the stand as it the only women’s deck to come in the beautiful chocolate colour way.

Lyme Lady G2 — Fossil

We saw a lot of ladies wearing the Lyme Lady in Tan and Navy as we explored the event ourselves, however the Lyme Lady Fossil was defiantly one of the more popular styles on our stand and it is a part of the new collection meaning it is new to the show stand.

Deck Lady II G2 — Walnut

Deck Lady Walnut is by far the most popular Chatham deck, so of course this was seen everywhere at the show, with denim skirts and Schoffel gilets, everyone looked amazing.

For the Men

Deck II G2 — Walnut

Just like the ladies, the Deck Walnut is also super popular in the men’s department, such a classic colour and style that can really be paired with anything.

Bermuda II G2 — Walnut/Seahorse

We can see exactly why the Bermuda is popular as it is very similar to the Deck II G2, just offering that pop of Seahorse to add another interest element to the shoe.
